March 12; Grand Master visit to District #2.

North Star Christmas Party

This year our Christmas party is on December 2. Again, many hands will put on

a day for our kids, Grandkids, Greatgrandkids. Our costs for this are about $30

per child and that cost is meant to be covered by donation. People donate what

they can and all kids are welcome regardless. Last year there was a regrettable

problem with gifts for one family. Accordingly, we have created a policy that

allows any family who registers their young people to indicate they will supply

their own wrapped presents for the ones they register and reduce their donations

accordingly.

A second change the officers made was to extend an invitation to

other Lodges in District 2 to join us in welcoming the festive

season for our kids. Hopefully all the kids will have a great

day.

Break in At the Lodge hall

The past two weeks have been very trying for several members as we struggle to

get our Lodge Hall functional once more. The reason for this effort is that thieves

in search of copper (and anything else readily put in their arm) have stripped the

hall of electrical wire and copper plumbing. They got a small amount of cash from

lockers and some other stuff they could carry away. As a result, we are rewiring

the building, replacing copper pipe with plastic, reconnecting the telephone,

strengthening the doors, barring the windows, repairing the gas line and

installing an alarm.

2008 Dues.

The dues review resulted in a motion at lodge that had the reduced dues remain

at $100 for the next year and the regular dues rise to $170. These amounts are

reduced by $20 if payment is received by December 31. Please make this process

as easy as possible for your Secretary and yourself. Please pay by the deadline!

Worshipful Masters Message:

I would like to thank all of the Brothers who are working hard to make the lodge hall usable

again. There is truly a lot of work going on.

The kids Christmas Party is coming December 2. Please get your donations and forms in to our

junior warden.

To those who cannot be there for the Christmas party with us, I will wish you and yours a very

Merry Christmas season and a Happy and Prosperous New Year.
